Innovative interior design, architecture, and sustainability come together seamlessly in the remarkable container house showcased at the 2019 Casacor exhibition in São Paulo, Brazil. This project redefines the potential of shipping container homes, transforming industrial materials into a modern, functional, and beautifully designed living space. The result is so refined that the original containers are nearly unrecognisable, blending sustainability with cutting-edge home interior design.
Rooted in the ethos of recycling and sustainable living, this 60-square-meter home was constructed from two 40-foot shipping containers, placed side by side to create a cohesive and efficient layout. The home features an open-plan living room, a modern kitchen, a laundry area, and an ensuite bedroom complete with a luxurious bathroom interior design that rivals traditional high-end homes.
For the exterior façade, flooring, and sun breakers, the architect opted for ultra-compact Dekton surfaces, typically associated with sleek kitchen interior design. These materials, which mimic the elegance of natural marble and stone, were chosen for their durability and resistance to sunlight, scratches, stains, and abrasions. The unified application of Dekton both inside and out creates a seamless and sophisticated finish, erasing any trace of the home’s industrial origins.
Inside, the home interior design emphasises functionality and style, proving that compact spaces can still offer luxury. The kitchen interior design integrates smart layouts and high-quality finishes, while the bathroom interior design stands out with its elegant materials and thoughtfully planned layout.
