The Wild Rose by Trewarne Diamonds is an immersive retail destination that blurs heritage architecture with contemporary spectacle. Designed by The Stylesmiths, the boutique reimagines a historic Victorian tenancy as a layered, theatrical experience, one where jewellery is not simply displayed, but encountered.
For our commercial interior design team in London, this project exemplifies how heritage buildings can be transformed into bold, experiential luxury environments. The ambition was to honour the late Victorian grandeur of the Arcade while introducing a dramatic, avant-garde layer of glamour. The result is neither preservation nor pastiche, but a confident reinterpretation of history, reverent yet unmistakably modern.
The ground floor unfolds like a jewel box: dark, atmospheric and meticulously detailed. A sculptural custom light installation anchors the space, hovering above bespoke display vitrines and handcrafted joinery. Carefully calibrated jewellery lighting, seamless security integration and intuitive circulation ensure the boutique performs with precision while maintaining theatrical impact. Art Nouveau influences, botanical murals and a custom Catherine Martin rug introduce romance and narrative, layering craftsmanship into every surface.
Ascending the staircase, described as an “Alice in Wonderland” moment, clients enter a private consultation level inspired by a grand Parisian apartment. Rich greens, blush tones, deep timbers, velvet and brass create an intimate setting designed for meaningful conversations and bespoke commissions. The jeweller’s workshop remains visible, reinforcing authenticity and celebrating the artistry behind each piece.
Designing within a landmark heritage arcade required careful cohesion across both levels. Material continuity and narrative layering ensure the boutique feels transportive yet grounded in its architectural legacy. The central display table has emerged as a gathering point, transforming retail into a shared ritual, a reminder that luxury design is as much about emotion as aesthetics.
