With a neutral palette and open floor plan, this project designed for a family of four is an exemplar of simplistic living.
The Stylesmiths™ were enlisted to redesign kitchen, living, dining and private zones including master bedroom and study. Understanding the client’s vision of simplicity and decorative restraint – the core of minimalism design – lead to an emphasis on balance and harmony, allowing this renovation to successfully capture the ‘less is more’ approach.
Captivating a sense of security and homeliness that responds to the family’s needs, custom joinery has been incorporated into the home design to ensure an organised yet decorative home, free from clutter. The feature wall panelling alongside the kitchen is effortlessly refined and casual, complimenting the floor to ceiling windows that elongate the space and frame the captivating landscape.
Working closely with our clients, The Stylesmiths™ were able to elevate the living spaces in a way that intrinsically relates to the local terrain and rive. Elements were thus chosen specifically for their understated style, block colours and subtleties. Merging an earthy palette of timber, linen and navy blue with flickers of golden amber that imitate sun beams fracturing on the slow and steady river stream, forges this connection deeper.
Oak hardwood floors are both robust and low maintenance, meeting the brief for a family friendly home, while rounded seating in every room softens the space, as do the rounded coffee table, lamps and mirrors, counteracting the strong architectural edges. In the U-shaped kitchen, stone bench-tops and marble splashback sit between the sapphire cupboards, creating a private space to prepare nightly meals.
The master bedroom is informed by the family spaces, following the same refined colour palette and materiality that naturally warms the space that overlooks serene environment – a continuous reminder of what the homeowners fell in love with, and now get to adore.
